This role is ideal for someone who brings both creativity and structure; is familiar with communications tools such as press releases, social media, and website updates; and has strong writing skills to develop narratives and reach audiences. You will help ensure consistent visibility, promote our programming, and expand our reach. This position reports directly to the Executive Director, who will provide support on the development of substantive content.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop messaging, narrative, and content for communications materials, including newsletters, social media, web content, and other communications
    • Design basic graphics (Canva)

    • Maintain lists of community partners and press/media contacts
    • Promote events and highlight community issues, initiatives, or public-facing resources

    Qualifications

    • Experience in communications, digital media, or community outreach, which can include internships, volunteer roles, or campus involvement
    • Strong and concise writing and editing skills, ideally connected to communications on social media, press releases, and other updates
    • Familiarity with or willingness to learn tools like Canva, Mailchimp, WordPress with Elementor, and YouTube
    • Attention to detail and ability to follow through on deadlines
    • Comfortable managing multiple small projects
    • Organized, self-motivated, and able to work collaboratively

Location: Remote (In-Office available local to SAAJCO’s address in San Jose, CA, if you would like to come in from time to time).

We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued and respected.

SAAJCO is fiscally sponsored by the North American South Asian Bar Association Foundation (SABA Foundation), which is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
