Children's Church Assistant

Are you passionate about providing spiritual education to our young people who will influence and impact the world, in a Church setting rooted in tradition but driven by intentional inclusion and open arms for all? If so, you may be a great fit with our small but mighty team at Madison Avenue Baptist Church (MABC)! We're looking for an experienced, compassionate Children’s Church Assistant as we enhance our Children’s programming during our Sunday morning services.

In this role, you will use your creative talents to support engaging teachings and activities for a range of children (potentially ages 2 through 10).

The primary duties of this role include:

• Build relationships with youth and parents to ensure a safe and welcoming environment
• Operational support for Children’s Church Lead on days when both staff are present
• Preparing and overseeing weekly Bible lessons & activities for Sunday School when filling in for Children’s Church Lead

Preferred Qualifications for this role would include:

• Ability to pass a thorough background check
• Demonstrable experience in:
  • A classroom setting
  • Working with children ages 2-10
• Experience with Children’s religious education is a plus
• Familiarity with a Church or other spiritual context is a plus

Hours:

• Sundays: 10:30 am – 12:30 pm for the first six (6) weeks of employment for onboarding & training with Children’s Church Lead
• 10:30 am - 12:30 pm on the first Sunday of each month
• 10:30 am - 12:30 pm on Sundays where Children’s Church lead will be absent

Prep time during the week at employee’s discretion

Pay Rate & Classification:

$100/week – W2 Employee

Proficient in English, other languages considered a plus
