Corporate Engagement Manager

SUMMARY: Overall responsibility for focusing attention on cultivating and securing corporate gifts to build a sustainable source of funding for the Zoo and for generating and managing corporate giving/membership/sponsorships by performing the following duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Develops and implements the corporate membership efforts. Insures a vital corporate relations program, which encompasses strategic planning, research and cultivation, proposal development, solicitation and stewardship of corporate members.
2. Creates detailed program plans for corporate membership.
3. Develops a business plan for corporate membership to better communicate the Zoo’s vision and forecast growth to business community.
4. Develops strategies for corporate participation, devises best approaches to corporation memberships.
5. Acts as advocate for corporate members in ensuring all appropriate recognition in advertising, signage, posters, print, electronic media and publications.
6. Works with rental events staff to maximize corporate participation and secure corporate partners.
7. Develop and execute a comprehensive corporate sponsorship sales strategy to meet or exceed annual revenue goals.
8. Create compelling sponsorship proposals and presentations tailored to each prospective partner.
9. Manage the full sponsorship sales cycle from prospecting and proposal development to contract negotiation and closing.
10. Maintain ongoing communication and stewardship with sponsors to ensure satisfaction, retention, and potential upselling opportunities.
11. Collaborate with marketing, events, education and operations team to fulfill sponsorship deliverables and activation plans.
12. Track and report sponsorship performance, ROI, and renewal rates; maintain accurate records in CRM system.
13. Represent the zoo at networking events, industry conferences, and community meetings to build new relationships and promote partnership opportunities.
14. Monitor market trends and competitive landscape to identify new partnership models and revenue-generating opportunities.

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university or equivalent preferred.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum three - five years work experience in corporate business relationship management, preferably in a zoo, museum, or environmental nonprofit. Excellent written and oral communications skills. Ability to be a team player. Proficient computer skills, with previous database experience (Raiser’s Edge preferred).

OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. 1. Occasionally this position may assume responsibility for non-HR functions as needed.
   2. Interacts with Zoo guests courteously and offers proper attention at all times.
   3. Where applicable, conducts manager and supervisory in-service training on related human resources areas.
