Position Overview

DAY ONE is seeking a creative, bilingual (Spanish/English) Digital Communications Specialist to lead our digital engagement efforts. This full-time role blends strategy and creativity to amplify our mission through compelling digital storytelling and authentic community-centered content. The ideal candidate will elevate the voices of the children, families, and communities we work with, ensuring our online presence reflects our values, impact, and commitment to equity while strengthening engagement across platforms.

Core Responsibilities

• Content Management: Manage DAY ONE’s social media presence (content creation, scheduling, engagement) and website content to share our story and drive participation.
• Cultural Resonance: Develop culturally relevant, multilingual content that resonates with diverse audiences.
• Strategy & Analytics: Track and report on social media performance to inform future communications strategies.
• Digital Storytelling: Capture the impact of DAY ONE’s work through digital mediums, ensuring alignment with our mission of equity and social justice.
• Admin: Maintain accurate records of digital engagement activities.

Community Engagement

• Serve as an ambassador for DAY ONE, building trust and visibility through in-person outreach, events, and partnerships.
• Cultivate relationships with community organizations, leaders, and stakeholders to expand reach.

Social Media & Digital Communications

• Manage DAY ONE’s social media presence (content creation, scheduling, engagement, analytics) to share our story and drive participation.
• Develop culturally relevant, multilingual content that resonates with diverse audiences.
• Track and report on social media performance to inform strategy.

Event Coordination

• Support inclusive, culturally responsive community and family events.

Administrative Support

• Maintain accurate records of outreach and digital engagement activities.
• Contribute to program evaluation and reporting.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated photography and videography skills, including capturing and editing high-quality visual content for digital and print use
• Proficiency in updating and maintaining websites using WordPress
• Experience managing organizational social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube
• Ability to create, schedule, and analyze engaging multimedia and social content aligned with brand and communications strategy
• Fluent in Spanish and English (spoken and written) is required.
• Proficiency in social media platforms, content creation tools, and basic analytics.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
