About RLC
Rescuing Leftover Cuisine (RLC) is a national 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to redistributing excess food from businesses to nonprofits serving people experiencing food insecurity. We work alongside our dedicated network of food rescuers and partner with organizations of all sizes and sectors to repurpose surplus ranging from as little as 5 pounds to as much as 500+ pallets. We aim to reduce food waste, promote sustainability, and enhance food security. Since RLC was founded in 2013, we’ve rescued over 21+ million pounds of food, prevented 48M+ pounds of emissions, and provided 17M+ meals to communities in need.
The Position
RLC is seeking a Marketing Assistant to support the execution of our marketing strategy across digital platforms, fundraising campaigns, and brand initiatives. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role is ideal for an organized, creative, and mission-driven marketer who is excited to grow their skills while making a measurable social impact.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate at least one influencer collaboration per week
- Support the execution of marketing campaigns across social media, email marketing, website updates, and digital advertising
- Assist with content creation, scheduling, and publishing across platforms such as Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook
- Help manage email marketing efforts, including drafting newsletters, formatting campaigns, and maintaining mailing lists
- Track basic marketing metrics and assist with performance reporting
- Assist with website updates, SEO improvements, and content organization
- Support fundraising and partnership marketing initiatives by preparing materials, graphics, and basic pitch content
- Collaborate with the Marketing Department, other departments, and interns to ensure timely execution of projects
- Maintain organized marketing calendars, asset libraries, and documentation
- Support special campaigns, events, and cross-departmental initiatives as needed
Qualifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable working on multiple projects and meeting deadlines
- Basic familiarity with digital marketing platforms (social media, email, websites)
- Willingness to learn new tools and systems
- Self-motivated, dependable, and collaborative
- Interest in nonprofit work, community impact, or social justice initiatives
Total Compensation
- Salary Range: $40,000 – $45,000, Flexible Paid Time Off
