Position Summary
In this role you will play a crucial role in implementing and maintaining data systems that align with our mission of facilitating charitable giving. Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer and working out of our New York City office, you will also work closely with data analysts, outsourced contractors and other stakeholders to ensure efficient data processing, analysis, and reporting within the context of nonprofit and philanthropic work.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards to visualize donor activity, grant distributions, and organizational performance metrics.
- Design and implement Power Automate workflows to automate routine tasks and expand low-code/no-code capabilities to improve operational efficiency.
- Lead the data migration process to a new fundraising and ERP system:
- Extract data from legacy systems
- Cleanse, normalize, and validate data
- Coordinate and support the transfer and loading of data into the new platform
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and translate them into scalable, user-friendly solutions.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across systems and reports.
- Document dashboard logic, workflow processes, and data sources for internal reference and training.
- Provide training and support for staff on Power Platform and automation tools.
- Coordinate with external vendors and partners to integrate third-party data sources as needed.
Qualifications
Required:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or data reporting roles.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, Power BI, including DAX, data modeling, and report design.
- Strong experience with developing and maintaining Power Automate workflows.
- Experience with data cleansing and migration projects, including working with legacy systems.
- Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases.
- Familiarity with low-code/no-code development principles and tools.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred:
- Familiarity with REST APIs and JSON/XML data formats.
- Familiarity with other automation platforms such as UiPath or N8N.
- Experience working in small teams or mission-driven organizations.
- Exposure to nonprofit or philanthropic data models.
