Responsibilities:
- Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions.
- Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and subsidiary ledgers monthly.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Support the month-end and year-end closing processes, including accruals and adjustments.
- Assist in tracking and reporting restricted and unrestricted funds in accordance with grant and contract requirements.
- Maintain documentation for grants, donations, and program expenditures to ensure compliance with funder guidelines.
- Support annual audit preparation by providing schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
- Help maintain internal controls and ensure adherence to organizational financial policies and procedures.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and grant financial reports.
- Collaborate with program staff to review financial data, track expenses, and ensure proper allocation of costs.
- Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.

Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required.
- 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a nonprofit organization.
- Experience with fund accounting and grant reporting strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with QuickBooks Online
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles (FASB standards).
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and general ledger software.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
