The Program Manager is responsible for the overall experience of Emma’s Torch students. They work collaboratively with the Program team and culinary instructors to ensure that students are prepared for the transition into the operation. They ensure that students are receiving the highest level of educational support and guidance. This person is tasked with overseeing student assessments in the first five weeks, and ensuring that this information is aggregated and shared with managers as students transition into the operation.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Recruitment & Outreach (20%)
- Develops relationships with local community partners to ensure a pipeline of eligible applicants to the program.
- Facilitate information sessions and applicant screenings
- Manage student onboarding and intakes for each cohort
Classroom Management (60%)
- Coordinate and facilitate approximately 10 hours per week of classroom instruction for students
- Owns the scheduling process for the teaching calendar and communicates this to the rest of the team. This includes: Scheduling intakes and onboarding pre-program, planning the classroom calendar and affirming teaching schedules, and coordinating site visits, guest speakers and volunteers during the classroom portion of the program
- Manage student attendance and payroll for the first 5 weeks of the program
- Acts as task manager for MSW candidates during their field placement
Relationship Cultivation (10%)
- Coordinate field trips and site visits with industry partners, including student preparation, assessments of learning, and stewardship of relationships
- Identify and cultivate relationships with service providers in and around the Inwood area to enhance the learning experience of students
Data Management (10%)
- Collects relevant data from the application and intake process and ensure they are entered into data management system correctly
- Collects and reports on daily student attendance
