    Role: Program Associate

    About FGI

    First Generation Investors (FGI) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides high school students with financial, specifically, investing education. The program is conducted in partnership with high schools and high school-based organizations. FGI sessions are delivered by high school teachers and by college tutors. Topics include personal finance, stocks, bonds, volatility and diversification, mutual funds, ETFs, compound interest, and dollar-cost averaging. At the end of the program, each student submits a capstone project and is granted $100 to invest in the stock market from a list of pre-selected mutual funds.

    FGI piloted the program in the spring of 2019 with three local Philadelphia high school students. Since then, FGI has expanded to 19 states and has served 3,000+ students. FGI is a small organization with a staff of one, looking to grow the team and expand our impact.

    Role Description

    Reporting regularly to the Head of Programming, the Program Associate is responsible for supporting program implementation, tutor and corporate engagement. This person works to implement FGI’s program with fidelity and works with the Head of Programming to implement engagement opportunities for students, tutors, and sponsors. The Program Associate will work directly with FGI stakeholders, including high school teachers, university faculty, students, tutors, alumni, and corporate sponsors, to ensure the program operates consistently and all cohorts deliver quality content. The Program Associate will work to further the organization’s mission and strategic plan through innovation and collaboration with the FGI team and stakeholders.

    • Coordinate and execute corporate engagement opportunities in collaboration with the Head of Programming
    • Coordinate tutor engagement opportunities, including coordinating events for current tutors, alumni, and members of the FGI Ambassador Program
    • Support in drafting mid-size grant applications for corporate engagement opportunities
    • Support with program administration tasks, including tracking onboarding, providing support to cohorts throughout the semester, and coordinating student accounts
    • Support the Head of Programming with qualitative and quantitative data collection and evaluation
    • Support generating new materials based on data analysis
    • Deliver tutor trainings to large groups of tutors and educators

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • 2+ years of demonstrated experience in program coordination
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Strong time-management and project management; ability to manage multiple projects at one time
    • Self-starter who is motivated to work on a small and growing team focused on innovation
    • Ability to speak on behalf of FGI at large and small events, with donors, and with education partners
    • Tasks might include some lifting, including setting up tables and carrying boxes of supplies
    • Experience with Canva, Google Suite, and learning-management systems is a big plus.
    • Experience working with Corporate Social Responsibility departments is a plus.
    • Experience with a Customer Relationship Management system is a plus. FGI uses Salesforce.

    Role Location

    • This role is remote.
    • This role includes occasional travel to FGI locations for program support and corporate engagement events.

    Work Schedule

    • 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday.
    • Occasional evenings and weekends are required for events.
    • Overnight travel may be required for program support and corporate engagement events.

    Salary
