    Overview

    The Data Analyst is responsible for overseeing the organization’s client data infrastructure, analytics, and reporting functions. This role ensures that NHSNYC’s Client Management System (CMS) effectively supports program delivery, compliance, funding requirements, and strategic decision-making.

    This role serves as the organizational expert on data collection, analysis, and reporting, exercising independent judgment in designing reporting frameworks, improving data processes, and advising leadership on trends and outcomes related to program performance and organizational impact.

    Key Responsibilities

    Data Systems Oversight & Governance

      • Maintain ownership of the organization’s Client Management System, including CounselorMax and any additional data platforms adopted by NHSNYC.
      • Ensure database systems accurately capture information required for program reporting, compliance, and organizational analysis.
      • Evaluate system limitations and recommend enhancements or process improvements to meet current and future organizational needs.
      • Establish and maintain data integrity standards, quality controls, and documentation related to CMS usage.

    Data Analysis & Reporting

      • Analyze client, program, and operational data to identify trends, performance indicators, and areas for improvement.
      • Prepare and generate consolidated reports for senior management, Resource Development, program leadership, and external stakeholders.
      • Manage and submit required reports, including NeighborWorks monthly and quarterly reports and HUD 9902 submissions.
      • Support grant reporting, audits, and compliance requirements for municipal, state, and federal funders.

    Cross-Functional Collaboration & Advisory Support

      • Collaborate with the Director of Homeownership Services, Director of Lending, Director of Resource Development, and Operations staff to align data outputs with reporting and compliance requirements.
      • Provide data-driven insights to support program assessment, long-term studies, and evaluation of program effectiveness.
      • Advise leadership on data-related risks, trends, and implications impacting funding, compliance, and program outcomes.

    Additional Responsibilities

      • Obtain and disseminate data and research related to NHSNYC’s mission and programs.
      • Provide staff support related to the coordination of reports and data needs, as required.
      • Perform other duties as assigned, consistent with the scope of the position.

    Qualifications

    Education & Experience

      • Bachelor’s degree required, degree or coursework in data analysis, research, urban planning, public policy, or a related field preferred.
      • Demonstrated experience managing databases, client management systems, or reporting platforms.
      • Experience preparing reports for government funders and regulatory agencies strongly preferred.
      • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
