    Location: 100% Remote

    The Association of Clinicians for the Underserved (ACU) is adding to our team! Founded in 1996, ACU is a uniquely transdisciplinary membership network dedicated to improving the health of America’s underserved populations and supporting the clinicians that serve them.

    We are hiring a Program Manager, Disaster Preparedness & Response to support the Health Center Rescue Network, a new disaster response and recovery initiative that equips health centers in underserved communities with the resources, coordination, and support needed to maintain uninterrupted care during crises. By improving access to critical supplies, peer support, and preparedness tools, the program addresses key drivers of health, including healthcare access, infrastructure stability, and workforce resilience.

    The ideal candidate is highly organized, proficient in project management, and possesses excellent written and interpersonal communication skills. The candidate will have experience developing training or educational activities, tools and resources to measure program impact and effectiveness, and advocacy resources. This position will report directly to the Associate Vice President, Disaster Preparedness and Response.

    The position contract remains active until December 2027 with the possibility of an extension.

    Location: ACU Headquarters is located in Washington, DC. This is a remote position. You must reside in one of the following states: Washington DC, Virginia, Florida, Massachusetts, New York, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Tennessee, or Texas.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provides project management support for the Health Center Rescue Network.
    • Provides staff support for an advisory group of stakeholders and subject-matter experts to guide the development of the Health Center Rescue Network.
    • Supports the development of a peer-to-peer support program; a public-facing website about the Network; state and locally based advocacy that raise awareness about the needs, challenges and opportunities associated with improved disaster relief and response; and tools that measure the impact of the Health Center Rescue Network.
    • Provide ongoing documentation of disaster response activities including, identification of centralized resource hubs in high-risk or impacted areas; outreach metrics showing the number of health centers contacted and the percentage that received support; and utilization metrics capturing the number of support requests, types of disasters, resources provided, days to fulfillment, and satisfaction feedback.
    • Draft and publish at least four original case studies outlining best practices and lessons learned from health centers affected by disasters.
    • Draft and submit formal project reports to funders.
    • Perform additional duties, as needed.

    Experience/Ability/Knowledge

    Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required

    • At least 3-5 years’ work experience in program management, coordination, and/or design within the healthcare sector.
    • Professional experience in disaster preparedness & response to support community health centers is required.
    • Experience developing training or educational activities, tools and resources to measure program impact and effectiveness, and advocacy resources.
    • Professional project/operations management experience, including client relationship management.
    • Demonstrated project management skills. Project management certification (PMP) or equivalent is a plus.
    • Advance proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
    • Experience with software to support project management, such as Asana or other tools, is a plus.
    • Experience in organizing and displaying data.
    • High degree of independence, flexibility, initiative, and commitment.
    • Proactive, motivated, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, self-manages multiple priorities simultaneously under deadlines.
    • Accuracy with work, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail.
    • Ability to self-manage multiple priorities, simultaneously, under tight deadlines.
    • Excellent written/verbal communication skills.

    Other Considerations: Domestic Travel for meetings and conferences, approximately 10-15% annually
