Trinity Place Shelter is a small, grassroot-based, nonprofit, 10-bed shelter for LGBTQ+ individuals, ages 18-24. Residents can stay at Trinity Place for up to 18 months. During this time, staff and residents co-create a nurturing, home-like residence where they have the opportunity to access the services and resources needed to exit homelessness.

We are looking for flexible and skilled LMSW/LCSW to work 18 hours a week, a hybrid of onsite hours, remote hours and on-call hours. In-person/onsite evenings include Fridays, Sundays and 2 Saturday evenings a month from 7pm to 11pm. Remote hours also include a bi-weekly house meeting and bi-weekly staff meeting.

The candidate must have relevant work experience, strong knowledge of LGBTQ issues and familiarity with LGBTQ+ affirming practice skills, anti-racist practices, trauma-informed care and strengths-based practice. The candidate must have excellent clinical, leadership, interpersonal and management skills. Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.

The candidate will work closely with the Clinical Supervisor and Director to coordinate ongoing care for the 10 individuals living at Trinity Place Shelter. Responsibilities include:

    • Work with shelter participants and Overnight Shelter Coordinators to assess residents’ needs, mutually design goals, and the steps needed to achieve goals.
    • Provide individual counseling
    • Organize and facilitate a variety of employment development workshops
    • Assist residents in finding employment: this may include assistance with employment search, resume building, and interview preparation.
