Overview of Team
The Development Division at AJWS is responsible for raising the revenue that supports AJWS’s grantmaking and advocacy. The Development Division includes the following departments: Institutional Giving, Major Gifts and Planned Giving, Development Operations and Donor Engagement. Members of the Development Division partner closely with the Communications and Marketing, Programs, Finance and Administration and People and Culture teams, as well as the Executive Office and Board of Trustees, instilling a culture of philanthropy across the organization. The Development Division is responsible for cultivating, stewarding, and soliciting donors, and building a deep connection and commitment to our work for our supporters.
The Institutional Giving team in the Development Division is responsible for meeting annual institutional revenue goals and monitoring grants from professional foundations, governments, corporations and select family foundations.
Every team member of the Development Division contributes to achieving our annual fundraising goal.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Development, the Director of Institutional Giving (IG) serves as a member of the Development Leadership Team (DLT). The DLT works with the Vice President and Associate Vice President for Development to plan and implement integrated, cross-departmental divisional strategy and goals that align with organizational strategy. In collaboration with the VP and AVP, the DLT also develops and monitors fundraising revenue projections and the division’s expense budget. The Director of Institutional Giving (IG) leads a team of four (4) development professionals and the institutional giving function in AJWS’s development division. The Director is responsible for developing plans and establishing goals for the IG team that align with divisional goals. The Director monitors the IG departmental budget.
This position works closely with leadership across the organization.
