Almost a quarter of bumblebee species are at risk of going extinct, and pesticides called neonics are a big reason why. Companies are now coating seeds with these deadly pesticides, meaning they grow in the plant and contaminate the soil. One neonic-coated seed is enough to kill 80,000 bees.
In order to stop these seeds from being coated in bee-killing pesticides, we need strong public support. We are hiring canvassers and field managers in our Boston office to educate the public about the issue, raise critical funds, and generate the visibility necessary to influence decision-makers.
