    Descripción

    The Hewlett-East Rockaway Jewish Centre (HERJC) is a vibrant, active and welcoming congregation on the South Shore of Long Island. We are strongly committed to celebrating all facets of our tradition, and are known for the high level of participation by our members in all the spiritual, educational, cultural and social aspects of the Jewish experience.

    We are looking for an energetic, computer savvy team player to add to our staff.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Early Childhood Center:

    • Assist Early Childhood Center Director
    • Maintain attendance records and OCFS (Office of Children and Family Services) paperwork, files, and immunization records for children and staff
    • Manage and process registration and enrollment forms and contact information, schedule tours

    for new families, and update program waitlists as needed

    • Manage general school supply ordering
    • Process invoices
    • Oversee ECC billing
    • Answer phone
    • Be a friendly, welcoming, face and voice of the synagogue
    • Respond to routine issues that may come up with children-
    • Assist with coordination and implementation of special events, including holiday celebrations

    and staff breakfasts and lunches

    • Other administrative tasks as needed

    Main Office:

    • Serve as part of the synagogue office staff in the afternoon; answering the front door, telephone, and assisting members and guests who enter the office,
    • Maintain database and member information
    • Assist in daily office operations
    • Assist with preparation of mailings as requested
    • Prepare flyers and written communication
    • Assist with flyers
    • Attend staff meetings.

    The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

    Bachelor’s degree

    Experience with administration in an early childhood program or school environment

    Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Suite

    The ideal candidate will also have the following skills and qualities:

    • Positive attitude and eagerness to collaborate with teachers, staff, and families
    • Strong administrative clerical and organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills

    The ability to be flexible and maintain a sense of humor in a fast-paced professional

    environment

    This is a dual role position reporting to the Early Childhood Center Director and the Executive Director

    Compensación

    Medical benefits, PTO, some flexibility, close early on Fridays
