    The American Association of Colleges & Universities (AAC&U) is the leading national association that advances the democratic purposes of higher education by promoting equity, innovation, and excellence in liberal education. Founded in 1915, AAC&U member institutions include accredited public and private colleges, community colleges, research universities, and comprehensive universities of every type and size.

    The Marketing Manager will collaborate closely with colleagues throughout the association to support the development and execution of marketing campaigns aligned with organizational priorities while managing AAC&U social media channels. The Marketing Manager will report directly to the Senior Director of Marketing.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Develop campaign collateral including email copy, web content, social media posts, and promotional materials that drive engagement and support revenue generation.
    • Manage AAC&U's social media presence by creating and scheduling platform-appropriate content, monitoring engagement, responding to comments and questions, and maintaining the association's voice and reputation across channels.
    • With support from the Senior Director of Marketing, manage social media advertising buys including creating ad copy and creative assets, tracking campaign spend, and monitoring performance metrics.
    • With support from the Senior Director of Marketing, write, edit, and produce marketing content including the monthly association newsletter, promotional emails, web pages, print and digital advertisements, and campaign materials. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather information and ensure accuracy.
    • Queue and schedule all marketing emails in Informz including technical setup, testing, and deployment. Ensure emails meet brand standards and CAN-SPAM compliance requirements.
    • Manage in-kind partner trade agreements and fulfillment of partnership commitments. Liaise with the graphic designer to create partner collateral based on previously approved designs and ensure timely delivery of partnership benefits.
    • Write promotional materials for select Association events including marketing copy, event descriptions, and campaign content that drives registration and attendance.
    • Stay current on digital marketing best practices, platform updates, and higher education marketing trends.
    • Perform other duties, as assigned

    EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field
    • Preferred minimum of 5 years of marketing experience, preferably in an association or higher education setting.
    • Strong attention to detail; ability to manage multiple projects in an evolving environment both individually and within a team, while consistently meeting deadlines.
    • Responsive to needs of members, staff, and leadership, maintaining a service-oriented mindset, demonstrating high levels of professionalism, good judgment, diplomacy, and courtesy.
    • Demonstrated understanding of email marketing and strong knowledge of all major social media platforms.
    • Experience using email marketing platforms, such as Informz; social media management platforms, such as Hootsuite; content creation tools, such as Adobe Creative Cloud; Google Analytics 4; and video editing software.
