    Descripción

    Arm In Arm is seeking an experienced professional for the full-time, non-exempt position of Hunger Prevention Operations Specialist. This position supports the daily operations of Arm In Arm’s food pantries and works collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and clients to ensure efficient and hospitable service delivery. In addition, the position serves as a key point of connection with the community, engaging individuals and groups interested in our mission, coordinating meaningful volunteer experiences, and maintaining ongoing communication to sustain long-term involvement. The role requires flexibility, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to serving the community with compassion and professionalism.

    • Pantry Operations Support: Provide comprehensive support for daily pantry operations, including opening and closing, client intake and greeting, bagging, program reporting, stocking, and assisting with the unloading of food deliveries.
    • Community Engagement: Serve as a primary point of connection between the organization and the broader community by engaging individuals and groups interested in the agency’s mission, coordinating meaningful volunteer experiences, and maintaining ongoing communication to support long‑term volunteer involvement.
    • Partnership Coordination: Collaborate with community partners and specialized volunteers to integrate complementary services that support and enhance the overall well‑being of pantry clients.
    • Volunteer Management: Oversee the volunteer management platform, ensuring accurate scheduling, timely communication, and consistent tracking and reporting of volunteer hours.
    • Volunteer Supervision: Supervise, guide, and delegate tasks to volunteers to ensure efficient, safe, and mission‑aligned pantry operations, in coordination with the Director of Hunger Prevention.
    • Facility Maintenance: Assist the Director of Hunger Prevention with routine maintenance and general upkeep of pantry facilities, equipment, and storage areas to ensure a clean, safe, and functional environment.
    • Client Experience: Foster and uphold a welcoming, respectful, and hospitable environment for all pantry clients, ensuring services are delivered with dignity and care.
    • Internal Collaboration: Work with internal departments to ensure pantry updates, events, and initiatives are accurately communicated and shared through appropriate agency channels in a timely manner.
    • Organizational Support: Provide support for additional projects, events, and organizational activities as assigned.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Experience working with vulnerable or underserved populations.
    • Strong ability to work independently with a focused, organized, and proactive approach.
    • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively and contribute to a team‑oriented environment.
    • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and motivational skills.
    • Proven reliability, including timely and consistent completion of assigned tasks.
    • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ensuring accurate record keeping.
    • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred; ability to communicate effectively with Spanish‑speaking clients is a plus.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent professional experience, strongly preferred.
    • Ability to successfully pass a satisfactory background check.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
    • Must be available to work onsite.
    • Flexibility to work occasional late afternoons or weekends, as needed.
