    Operations & Events Assistant Position Overview

    The Operations& Events Assistant is a unique role supporting events, including logistics, database management, customer interface with high-touch service, and event coordination and support. The Operations & Events Assistant has variable work hours in support of events onsitethis includes evening and weekend work. The Operations & Events Assistant also supports East King County Human Services Collaborative (The Collaborative) that is led and programmed by Together Center. The role requires excellent communication skills in writing, speaking, planning, invoicing, as well as an eye for detail and ability to edit materials. Events occur in Together Conference Center as well as in common spaces such as Coworking Studio, Art Gallery, Serendipity Lounge, and Community Kitchen. Together Center has a small and nimble team with a bias for action and a focus on care of a special place and all its users. We expect all team members to support each other and the community, jumping in where needed to serve the users of our people-centered facility. As such, all Together Center roles are based on-site, not remote. This position requires a team-player, with a “can-do” attitude, and a problem-solving, solutions-oriented approach.

    Primary Duties & Job Responsibilities

    Communications

    • write clear, respectful, and engaging communication materials including for newsletters, emails, invitations, and announcements for East King County Human Services Collaborative
    • careful editing and review of written materials and content
    • keen eye for detail
    • create monthly online newsletter for The Collaborative and help keep contact list up-to-date

    Collaborative

    • note-taking and tracking to help CEO lead The Collaborative, and its Community Advisory Group
    • ability to listen to multiple points of view, incorporate feedback, iterate, and constantly improve with input from community
    • create social media content that elevates work of human services sector in our region, and drives engagement online, at events both in person and online, and in community

    Events Support

      • work in coordination with CEO and/or Operations & Events Manager to host onsite events for The Collaborative and various nonprofits
      • learn and ability to teach users all policies and procedures for excellent, safe, and welcoming onsite events
      • learn and ability to support basic audio/visual technology onsite
      • organize hospitality fare (food and drinks) and other logistics as requested for meetings and/or events
      • understand security and open/close procedures for facility to support events as needed
      • understand and ability to process payments for event space rentals – keep all accounting details/coding clear and accurate for events
      • event set ups including divider wall configurations, tables and chairs, audio/visual
      • collect Certificates of Insurance as needed for onsite events

    Additional Duties

    • ability to learn basic Resource Navigation skills to back-up TC navigation team as needed
    • contribute to overall organizational success and completion of goals as directed
    • provide other assistance as directed by Supervisor

    Physical Demands

    • ability to move, bend and lift up to 30 lbs.
    • ability to move furnishings on wheels, and move collapsible, acoustic divider walls
    • ability to move throughout the campus interior and exterior
    • ability to work at a desk and with computer equipment such as keyboard and mouse

    Qualifications (Required & Preferred)

    Commitment to Mission: A strong desire to better East King County for all people is required.

    Independent Project Management Skills: The ability to work independently on multiple projects, both ongoing and time-specific, is critical. Problem-solving and ability to implement solutions is essential. Organizational and time management skills needed. The ability to maintain confidentiality regarding clients, donor, tenants and board activity is required.

    Communication skills: Candidates must be able to work as a member of a team and foster collaboration. Clear and effective oral and written communication skills are required. Confidentiality is required.

    Technology Skills: Knowledge and ease in the use of Microsoft Office software is required. Preferred candidates will be familiar with donor management software and best practices for donor data entry. Preferred candidates will have familiarity with web-based and social media communication tools.

    Other Skills and Experience preferred: 3-5 years of relevant job experience preferred. Sense of humor appreciated.

    Reports to: The Operations& Events Assistant reports to: Operations & Events Manager.

    Compensación

    Paid time off and federal holidays paid off.

    Allowance of $750 per month paid by employer toward benefit options including group health, dental, and vision insurance; plus 2% of salary for an available retirement plan. Life insurance (25k) and long-term disability paid by Together Center.
