    Position Overview

    Reporting to the Manager, Volunteer & Community Engagement the Volunteer and Community Engagement Coordinator will support all day-to-day activities of Baby2Baby’s volunteer program and community outreach initiatives. This is a full-time position responsible for leading volunteer sessions, coordinating special projects and offsite events, tracking and analyzing data, preparing materials for donation, and supporting broader community engagement efforts.

    Given the nature of the work, candidates must excel at working both independently and in collaboration with others. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and relationship-builder who thrives in social environments while also being comfortable taking initiative and leading projects independently. This role requires a highly organized, adaptable and solutions-oriented individual who is comfortable making quick decisions in a fast-paced environment.

    The Volunteer and Community Engagement Coordinator will work Monday – Friday at Baby2Baby’s HQ at 5830 W. Jefferson Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90016. The work is performed in both office and warehouse settings.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Leads daily volunteer sessions, including set up, facilitation, troubleshooting and breakdown.
    • Serves as the point person during volunteer sessions, helping make real-time decisions and ensuring a positive volunteer experience.
    • Trains volunteers and educates groups on Baby2Baby’s mission and programs.
    • Coordinates preparation and organization of materials for special projects and offsite volunteer events.
    • Supports and cross-trains in additional community engagement efforts, including holiday programs, back to school efforts, responsive programming, community events and the internship program.
    • Acts as a primary point of contact for volunteer groups by coordinating pre-session communications, confirming logistics and providing post-session follow-up.
    • Maintains online recruiting platforms and scheduling systems.
    • Tracks and analyzes volunteer participation.
    • Coordinates volunteer recognition and appreciation efforts.
    • Researches and attends mission-related community fairs/events.
    • On-site involvement at Baby2Baby events, distributions, sponsorship activations, and volunteer sessions across Los Angeles, etc. Some events may occur on the weekend.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree.
    • Minimum of 2-3 years relevant professional experience.
    • Physical demands include lifting up to 50lbs and standing for extended periods of time.
    • Excellent oral communication skills with the ability to speak professionally, publicly and confidently to donors, sponsors, volunteers and community partners.
    • Strong organizational, time-management and multi-tasking skills with the ability to adapt quickly and problem-solve under pressure.
    • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, make thoughtful decisions independently and lead projects.
    • Highly personable and energized by working with diverse populations and building relationships.
    • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
    • Creative thinker with strong problem-solving skills and an artistic eye.
    • Proficient in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive and Calendar) and Canva.
    • Commitment to Baby2Baby’s mission and passion for volunteerism and community engagement.
    • Spanish speaking highly preferred.
