Compensation: $28 to $32 per hour DOE
Schedule: Part-time, 20 hours per week, occasional evening and weekend work
Location: Downtown Spokane office with some remote work

Position Summary: PJALS is hiring an Operations Coordinator to ensure smooth day-to-day organizational operations in alignment with PJALS’ mission, vision and values. This is a position for 20 hours per week, which reports to the Executive Director and works with all team members.
Job Duties (Percentages are Approximate):
Organizational Operations (40%)
- Assesses, develops, and implements operational systems to optimize our capacity
- Manages contracts, including contract initiation, review, and renewal when needed; liaison to Community Building team and vendors.
- Maintains internal personnel, financial, accounting, and administrative recordkeeping
- Manages office, materials, and equipment inventory; including purchasing and upkeep.
- Supports Development Director with database upkeep and new contact entry
- Ensure local, state, and federal compliance including employment-related, safety, timely filings, and rules and regulations for 501c3 organizations and state reporting requirements for PDC reporting - annually and as needed
- Provides administrative support to the Steering Committee, including but not limited to scheduling meetings, sending emails, and maintaining records - monthly
- Attends internal meetings and professional development activities as needed
- Assists with program operations as needed
Finance Operations (30%)
- Develops, maintains, and reports on budget and financial health of organization in collaboration with Executive Director and bookkeeper - bi-monthly and as needed
- Implements finance and accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Coordinates purchasing, accounts payable and receivable, and payroll with bookkeeper and other staff as needed
- Collaborates with bookkeeper and Executive Director on financial filings
- Monitors bank balances and investment portfolios
People & Culture Operations (30%)
- Develops and implements equitable and inclusive personnel and employment policies and procedures, including the Employee Handbook, and coordinates employee education on these topics
- Supports employee recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding
- Coordinates annual process of employee feedback and staff development planning
- Administers benefits including healthcare, dental, and 401k plans
- Supports volunteer program in partnership with the staff team
Required Qualifications:
- Demonstrated commitment to anti-racism and social justice.
- Knowledge of administrative, finance, accounting, HR, and organizational operations, or similar experience
- Committed to integrating justice and equity into all areas of HR and operations
- Creative problem solving skills aimed toward supporting our PJALS team
- Ability to build respectful relationships across race, ethnicity, class, sexual orientation, gender, faith, age, ability, and other identities to increase recognition of mutual interest, shared values, and sense of community.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills.
- Excellent work habits: communication, project tracking, time management skills, ability to juggle competing demands and prioritize tasks.
- Familiarity with Google Suite, Google Drive, Microsoft Office, Zoom, EveryAction (or other database management), and maintaining digital files.
- Desire to sharpen skills, receive feedback, and contribute to organizational success.
- Ability to recognize one’s access support and self-care needs and to seek support when needed
