Position summary: Resound Research is hiring a Temporary Survey Research Assistant in El Paso, Texas. This is a part-time position (i.e., 30 hours or less per week) that will support the implementation of a research study to understand patients’ contraceptive preferences and barriers to reproductive healthcare. This role will be responsible for in-person study participant recruitment and enrollment at a healthcare center in El Paso, Texas. Work will be conducted at the site following orientation and training that will be conducted remotely. The Temporary Survey Research Assistants reports to the Senior Research Project Manager.
Essential duties and responsibilities
- In-person recruitment of study participants at a health center, including determining interest and eligibility, in English and Spanish
- In-person enrollment of participants at a reproductive health center, including, answering questions about the study’s purpose, privacy concerns, and incentive payments; helping with the informed consent process
- Facilitate participants’ successful completion of a self-administered online survey on a tablet and document informed consent procedures
- Adhere to strict data privacy protocols
- Monitor and maintain internal tracking systems
- Interface with health center staff and integrate the study procedures into clinic workflow
- Be flexible and proactively communicate with clinic and research staff

Education and experience
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required
- One (1) to two (2) years of previous participant recruitment or survey implementation experience and/or interacting with patients in a health care setting is strongly preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in public health, market research, psychology, social sciences, or a related field is preferred .
- One (1) to two (2) years of professional experience in a related field preferred
- Experience with clinical research or research in a medical setting is preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in both Spanish and English.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Excellent people skills; be capable of establishing and maintaining a positive engagement with study participants and health center staff; Experience with customer service desired.
- Commitment to the organization’s mission to provide evidence to inform policies that promote more equitable, comprehensive reproductive healthcare.
- Comfort with approaching patients in a health care setting, introducing a research study, and assessing their interest in participating. Able to perform the tasks needed for survey research implementation.
- Comfort working in a temporary workspace in a health center.
- Familiarity with research ethics and data privacy regulations. Human Subject Protection and Responsible Conduct of Research training and/or CITI Training certification a plus.
- Able to keep project information confidential; Experience working with sensitive and confidential data preferred.
- Ability to take direction and work independently.
- Ability to be flexible when deadlines and/or priorities change or shift. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- High level of computer literacy, including confidence using (or learning to use) Microsoft suite (e.g., SharePoint, Teams), online survey platforms, and other digital tools. Familiarity with online survey platforms and comfort with troubleshooting minor technical issues
- Be available to work during the weekday (Monday-Friday)
Work environment: This is a part-time, non-exempt position; some evening hours might be needed (e.g., 5-6pm). Study recruitment will be conducted in person at a clinic located in El Paso, Texas. We follow CDC COVID-19 recommendations for vaccination and guidelines for in-person work during pandemic surges.

This position will be paid hourly at a rate of $19-25 per hour and may require up to 30 hours per week. This position will start in the summer of 2026 and conditional upon continued project funding, we expect the position to end in early 2027.
