The Role
We are looking for a Sector Lead to drive water and waste management initiatives by supporting startups, building partnerships, managing projects, and raising funds. The role involves leading sector strategy, managing a team, working with government and industry partners, and supporting social enterprises to scale impact solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy and Impact Planning
- Program design and sector mapping based on opportunity identification
- Policy and Eco system engagement
- Technology scouting and validation
- Impact planning aligned to the overall strategic goals.
Project Leadership & Execution
- Lead end-to-end project planning, execution and reporting with accountability for impact.
- Build and assess a pipeline of climate-smart innovations for deployment.
- Coordinate with startups, government, academia, and industry partners to align goals and timelines.
- Track KPIs and outcomes, ensuring compliance and risk mitigation.
Portfolio Management
- Guide startups on scaling, funding, and strategic growth.
- Deliver mentoring, technical support, and capital access to drive success.
Donor Partnerships, Outreach & Fundraising
- Manage and maintain relationships with donors and partners through regular communication and reporting.
- Build partnerships to support program awareness and large-scale implementation
- Lead donor outreach and fundraising efforts.
- Develop fundraising narratives and support proposal development and renewals.
- Build and maintain a pipeline of donor leads and funding opportunities.
- Track and maintain a database of donor and partnership activities
- Represent the organisation to increase program visibility and partnerships.
Who You Are
- 12–15 years experience in water, sanitation, waste management, environment, or sustainability sectors.
- Experience in project management, partnerships, or social enterprise ecosystem.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
- Experience with public-private partnerships, impact sector, or incubation is a plus.
