Publishing Coordinator

ABOUT THE JOB

In These Times, a national, independent, nonprofit, magazine based in Chicago, is hiring a full-time Publishing Coordinator. Since 1976, we have covered movements for social, racial, economic and environmental justice, and sought to expand the boundaries of the politically possible.

In These Times’ Publishing Coordinator is primarily responsible for providing administrative, database and fundraising support to the Publishing team.

This is a hybrid remote position and requires at least one day per week in our Chicago office with occasional weekend and evening work and reports to the Associate Publisher.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Process donations including checks, credit cards, ACH, wires, stock transfers into Etapestry along with weekly check deposits
• Manage the gift acknowledgement and recurring donation process
• Coordinate with the accounting team on monthly donation reports
• Manage data imports and uploads for online donations and subscriptions
• Project manage fundraising mailings from creation of mailing list to providing materials to the printer
• Manage the donor database to maintain accurate and up to date records
• Stewardship of recurring donors along with handling their subscription requests
• Assisting the editorial team with mailing requests and potential data needs
• Provide assistance for events

REQUIREMENTS

• Proficiency or ability to quickly learn eTapestry (Blackbaud), previous database management preferred
• Experience with data analysis
• Advanced Excel experience (list deduping, VLOOKUP, creating mailing lists)
• Strong organizational skills and close attention to detail
• Ability to independently manage projects
• Creative problem solving
• Exceptional interpersonal skills
• Event planning experience preferred

This is a full-time, four day per week (32 hours) position in our office on 2040 N. Milwaukee Avenue on Chicago’s Northwest Side.

The salary range is $56,650-$67,980 with scheduled annual raises.
