    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Coordinator will work with partners to coordinate and conduct dozens of free community workshops on a variety of healthy homes topics including radon, carbon monoxide, mold, and overall indoor air quality, all while highlighting the key concern of lead poisoning for homes with anyone pregnant, breastfeeding, or young children.

    This position provides opportunities for the Coordinator to learn about other CEP programs in order to provide the most relevant information and resource referrals to the community they serve. Other programs include Summer and Winter Weatherization workshops, Low Income Oregon Community Solar program enrollment, and direct home energy efficiency retrofit work for low-income homeowners in the Portland area. Additionally, the Coordinator will act as a connector for participants to many local and regional programs such as Portland Housing Bureau’s Lead Hazard Reduction Grant to assist them in making their home as healthy and safe for themselves and their families as possible.

    Workshop Coordinators work with diverse communities and have flexible schedules to best serve these communities. CEP currently operates hybrid with an in-person office and ability to work remotely, as the position allows. Goal start for position is early-to-mid July 2025.

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Teaching Workshops and Program Coordination
    • Conduct program outreach, such as relationship building with community partners and tabling at community events (15 minimum annually)
    • Coordinate and conduct workshops (virtually and in person) for the public and with community partners: scheduling, outreach, registration, teaching, evaluation (serve 300 household annually)
    • Manage supplies: assemble customized workshop kits and distribute to participants
    • Collaborate with partner agencies and emphasize local resources, such as Multnomah County Health Department and Portland Housing Bureau Lead Grant Program
    1. Data Management and Reporting
    • Accurately enter participant data, ensuring a high level of accuracy for contract compliance from paper forms into Salesforce Formstack form
    • Import participant data into Community Services for funder
    • Conduct data analysis and create quarterly reports
    • Maintain the database of all workshop participants, workshop schedule, and community workshop host sites/contacts
    • Track current inventory (as needed) and assist with supply ordering and coordination

    REQUIRED SKILLS:

    • 2 years experience in outreach, community education, program development, and/or partnership building or Bachelor’s Degree within relevant and applicable field(s)
    • Passion for speaking and sharing information with diverse groups of adults.
    • Comfortable working with families, including teaching workshops with pregnant people and breastfeeding parents, as well as children of all ages in attendance.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills—able to manage and communicate effectively with diverse individuals and groups of people in a variety of manners.
    • History of being highly organized, dependable, and punctual.
    • Commitment to Diversity Equity and Inclusion - with coworkers and clients

    QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

    • Must have a valid driver’s license and regular access to a vehicle.
    • Must have the availability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends (with advance warning)
    • Must be able to load and unload supplies and stand for several hours at a time.

    PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Demonstrated personal or professional experience with culturally-informed services to diverse and traditionally underserved groups (e.g. BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, low-income).
    • Bilingual/Bicultural in Spanish, Chinese, Russian, or Vietnamese
    • Experience with group facilitation and public speaking
    • Experience working with Google Applications, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
    • Experience with Zoom, Eventbrite, and Canva
    • Experience with data management and analysis
