    Position Summary: The Administrative Manager is responsible for overseeing the activities necessary to support the advocacy, public education, research, and other efforts of NCH. With a small staff, teamwork is a vital component of NCH: while each staff person has defined responsibilities, the willingness of all to “pitch in” when needed is essential to carrying out the mission of the organization.

    NCH maintains a Hybrid staff, with an office in northwest Washington, DC. The Administrative Manager should be located in the Washington, DC, area and will be required to be in the office at least 3 days per week. This is a full-time salaried position, eligible for our generous benefits package (including Medical, Dental and Vision coverage, Life Insurance, 403b Retirement, etc.), and will require occasional weekend work and travel 1-3 times per year.

    Duties:

    • Manages and schedules flow of work to support NCH objectives (mailings, phone calls, response to information requests, etc.).
    • Oversees office facility needs, including, but not limited to: Liaison with landlord; Oversight of office equipment maintenance and repair; Coordination of office space - managing ordering and storage of supplies, files, etc.
    • Inputs donor data, manages thank you letters, and assists with other donor letters and mailings as necessary.
    • Assures that NCH info inbox inquiries are answered or redirected in a timely and professional manner.
    • Responds to requests for information or assistance, analyzing data and creating field reports on incoming requests.
    • Maintains physical filing and assists with maintenance of digital systems.
    • Sorts daily mail delivery.
    • Processes deposits/bills in coordination with Deputy Director, Executive Director, and bookkeeper.
    • Assists program staff with scheduling and other arrangements for special meetings or projects.
    • Other tasks as may be assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • Any combination of education and/or experience, which reflects the development of the skills necessary to carry out, the tasks listed above.
    • Strong, proven management and customer service skills.
    • Demonstrated knowledge and use of general computer systems, Microsoft Office programs, database management, and internet usage.
    • Demonstrated ability to work in a collegial atmosphere with philosophically, racially, and economically diverse groups and individuals.
    • Candidates with personal experience of homelessness or housing instability are highly encouraged to apply.
