    Case Manager – Child Custody System Navigation Ally

    (CCSNA) Program

    Location: Oakland, CA / Alameda County, with services at community sites and virtual as needed

    Schedule: Part-Time (0.55 FTE / 22 hours per week)

    About Dads Evoking Change

    Dads Evoking Change (DEC) is a community-based organization committed to empowering fathers and

    families through comprehensive support, positive parenting, and strong family bonds. We work alongside

    parents and caregivers to help them navigate systems that impact family stability, including family court,

    child support, and reentry-related barriers. Our approach is rooted in dignity, cultural responsiveness,

    trauma-informed practice, and the belief that healthy family connections strengthen entire communities.

    Position Summary

    DEC is seeking two compassionate, organized, and mission-driven Part-Time Case Manager to support

    parents and caregivers participating in our Child Custody System Navigation Ally (CCSNA) program. This

    role provides direct support to families navigating child custody, child support, and related family court

    processes.

    The Case Manager manages an active caseload of up to 40 participants annually, helping them

    understand court requirements, connect to legal consultations and workshops, coordinate services, track

    progress toward reunification goals, and provide practical, relationship-based support throughout the

    process. This position is ideal for someone who believes in second chances, whole-family healing, and the

    importance of fathers and caregivers being positively involved in their children’s lives.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Conduct intake, assessment, and ongoing case management for parents and caregivers enrolled in

    the CCSNA program.

    • Develop individualized service plans and update them based on participant goals and progress.
    • Help participants navigate child custody, child support, and related family court systems.
    • Support participants in understanding court requirements, paperwork, timelines, and next steps.
    • Coordinate referrals to legal consultations, workshops, counseling, and other support services.
    • Support coordination of weekly legal workshops and one-on-one attorney consultations as part of the

    CCSNA program model.

    • Maintain regular contact with participants and provide encouragement, accountability, and follow-up.• Document services, participant progress, and outcomes in required data systems and case files.
    • Collaborate with attorneys, program staff, probation partners, and community-based organizations to

    support family reunification goals.

    • Assist with outreach, workshops, and community engagement efforts across Alameda County.
    • Provide warm handoffs to additional services including family support, counseling, and other

    stabilizing resources.

    • Uphold confidentiality and handle sensitive family information with care and professionalism.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, psychology, legal studies, or a related field

    preferred.

    • At least 2 years of experience in case management, family support services, legal navigation, reentry

    services, or a related field.

    • Experience working with fathers, families, justice-impacted individuals, or communities impacted by

    court involvement strongly preferred.

    • Strong understanding of trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and strengths-based practice.
    • Ability to build trust with participants from diverse backgrounds.
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple cases, appointments, and follow-up tasks.
    • Comfortable working collaboratively with attorneys, social service providers, and system partners.
    • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
    • Spanish-speaking or other bilingual ability is strongly preferred. Lived experience with reentry or

    system navigation is strongly valued.

    Work Environment / Program Context

    This role may provide services at community locations in Oakland, at designated reentry service sites, and

    virtually when needed. The CCSNA program serves parents and caregivers across Alameda County

    through case management, workshops, and legal consultations. Standard service hours are Monday

    through Friday, with some evening or weekend availability as needed to better serve families.Compensation

    This is a part-time (0.55 FTE / 22 hours per week) position. Compensation: $31.25 per hour.
