Role Summary
Mindful Philanthropy is seeking an AI Strategy & Innovation Specialist to help lead how we thoughtfully and responsibly integrate artificial intelligence into our research, strategy, and day-to-day workflows. Leading with AI tools is a strategic priority for our organization, and this role will work directly with the CEO and senior leadership to identify high-leverage use cases for AI, prototype solutions quickly, and translate emerging AI capabilities into practical, ethical, and mission-aligned applications.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong analytical foundation (e.g., consulting, strategy, or research) who has developed deep fluency with applied AI tools and is excited to operate at the intersection of innovation, mission, and execution.
This is a part-time or contractor role, with flexible hours and the opportunity to shape how AI is used across a values-driven organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, design, and test AI use cases that improve research, strategy, operations, and decision-making while ensuring that sensitive data never leaves company controlled environments
- Build and refine AI-enabled workflows using tools such as LLMs, automation platforms, and data analysis tools
- Support strategic projects with AI-assisted research, synthesis, scenario analysis, and insight generation, creating new tools and repeatable workflows that can transform how we work
- Translate complex AI concepts into clear recommendations for non-technical stakeholders
- Stay current on AI trends, tools, and best practices, with a focus on responsible and ethical use
- Document learnings, workflows, and prompts so they can be reused across the organization
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure AI solutions align with organizational goals and values
- Assess current use of AI across core areas of the organization, identify critical opportunities for improvement and iterate to implement best practices
- Identify opportunities to utilize AI for core offerings and innovate future opportunities to make the field more collaborative, effective and integrated, moving more capital to mental health
Key Qualifications
Background & Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in a highly analytical, fast-paced environment (e.g., management consulting, strategy, analytics, or similar)
- Experience equivalent to entry-level consulting at a firm like McKinsey, Bain, BCG, or similar is a strong plus
- Demonstrated pivot toward AI over the past year, with practical, applied experience (professional or self-directed)
AI & Technical Skills
- High proficiency with modern AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT/Claude, research copilots, automation tools, prompt engineering)
- Comfort rapidly prototyping workflows or analyses using AI
- Ability to evaluate AI outputs critically and improve quality through iteration
- Technical depth is helpful but not required; judgment and application matter more than coding mastery
Core Traits
- Exceptionally clear thinker and communicator
- Curious, self-directed, and comfortable navigating ambiguity
- High ethical standards and sensitivity to responsible AI use
- Excited by the intersection of strategy, technology, and impact-driven work
Engagement Details
- Type: Part-time or contract
- Hours: Flexible (anticipated 10–20 hours/week, adjustable)
- Location: Remote (with some overlap with U.S. business hours preferred)
- Compensation: Competitive and commensurate with experience
Why This Role
This is a chance to:
- Apply cutting-edge AI in a real-world, mission-driven context
- Operate with autonomy and visible impact
- Help shape an organization’s long-term approach to AI, not just execute tasks
- Work with a thoughtful team that values rigor, agility, creativity, and integrity
