    As the Arts Program Director, you’ll play a vital role in developing and executing a diverse arts program for children in USES programs and community members. You will have the opportunity to use your own professional skills and develop new ones, supported by a committed and team-oriented set of colleagues. As a member of the USES team, you will receive ongoing support and guidance. This role reports to the Director of Youth and Family Mobility Programming.

    What You’ll Do:

    • Develop a year-round age-appropriate curriculum program for children ages 0-12 to develop fine motor skills, support socio-emotional growth, explore concepts like science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, and boosting their creativity
    • Administer art programming to USES children by teaching skills and building strong relationships
    • Track progress and learning of children to create metrics and outcomes of the program, support the development team in grant writing by providing information and metrics on the program
    • Collaborate with educators and program staff to ensure consistent, safe, and enriching care for all children
    • Manage and maintain an organized, safe, welcoming, and clean arts environment
    • Be a positive role model, demonstrating professionalism and a commitment to USES values
    • Build out a plan to eventually launch external arts programming to the USES community by creating a timeline, crafting and developing a curriculum, and outlining goals of the program
    • Lead the marketing effort for external arts programming by developing a marketing plan and partnering with the Development and Communications Manager to execute
    • Act as a thought leader to help guide the future of the program and make continual improvements to the quality in alignment with USES’ mission and values
    • Create and execute a recruitment plan for building an external arts program.
    • Collaborate with the Development Department to help write grants to fund the art program.

    What We’re Looking For:

    • Commitment to USES’ mission, vision, and values
    • ECE teacher certification (preferred)
    • 7-10 years' experience with youth-focused arts program administration
    • Experience building arts curriculum to meet specific needs and goals
    • Experience working with children ages 0-12
    • Commitment to working holistically with diverse youth, staff, and families
    • Spanish or a second language preferred
    • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
    • Demonstration of timely problem-solving skills and flexibility

    • Strong time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
    • Able to exercise sound judgement
    • Bachelor's degree in art education or art history preferred.
    • Team player attitude and willingness to support cross departmental priorities

    Work Expectations and Physical Requirements (with or without accommodation):

    • This role is 100% in person on site at 48 Rutland Street, Boston, MA
    • Our typical operating hours are 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM. Some morning, evening, and/or weekend hours may be required, particularly once the external programming has launched
    • Must be able to climb, stoop, reach, stand, lift, feel, talk, hear, and be capable of repetitive motion
