Where others see problems, we see opportunity. Join us in building the Englewood we know is possible.

R.A.G.E.—the Resident Association of Greater Englewood—is a resident-led powerhouse of nearly 500 members, dedicated to building community, amplifying local voices, and restoring our neighborhood with pride and purpose. We are looking for a Program Director who understands that true power lives in the people—and knows how to turn that power into action.

If you’re from Englewood or deeply committed to community-led change, and you bring leadership, love for our communities, and an operational mindset—this is your chance to drive impact from the inside out.

    About the Role

As Program Director, you’ll work closely with our CEO to guide and implement our signature programs—spanning community engagement, youth development, membership engagement and economic justice. You’ll lead a dynamic team of five to seven, ensure program excellence, and help shape strategies that are rooted in resident voices and real-world impact.

This role is ideal for someone who’s led complex programs in community settings and thrives in fast-paced, mission-driven work.

    Key Responsibilities

    Strategic Leadership

      • Collaborate with the CEO to design, lead, and evaluate key initiatives
      • Oversee execution of strategic plans across programs
      • Lead your team with vision, clarity, and accountability
      • Manage program budgets and recommend resource allocation

    Community Engagement & Partnerships

      • Center resident voice in all programs and decisions
      • Build and maintain meaningful partnerships with local groups, funders, corporate partners, small businesses, and cultural and civic institutions
      • Represent R.A.G.E. in community coalitions, public forums, and media

    Evaluation & Learning

      • Implement community-centered evaluation and feedback tools
      • Track outcomes and report impact to residents, funders, and other stakeholders
      • Build systems for data, documentation, and shared learning

    Organizational Culture

      • Foster a positive, high-performing, and values-driven team culture
      • Ensure staff development, coaching, and retention
      • Cultivate an inclusive and empowering workplace that prioritizes equity and wellbeing

    What You Bring

      • Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree a plus
      • 10–15 years in nonprofit program leadership
      • 3–5 years managing staff
      • A record of success in community development, resident-led work, or economic justice initiatives
      • Skilled in program strategy, team management, and cross-sector collaboration
      • Excellent communicator—both written and verbal—across diverse audiences
      • Knowledge of strengths, challenges, and potential of overlooked communities like Englewood
      • Confidence with productivity tools like Google Workspace, Excel, CRMs and Canva
      • Poise in public settings and with media when representing the organization

      • Competitive salary: $75,000–$83,000
