    General Overview

    The RE-AMP Network is a collaborative network of more than 120 nonprofits and foundations across ten Midwestern states. RE-AMP works to equitably eliminate greenhouse gas emissions in the Midwest by 2050.

    Our mission is to set collective strategy and enable collaboration on climate solutions in the Midwest. We envision a Midwest in which we all have access to the energy we need to live, move, work and play; and where we produce and use it in an equitable and just way that protects our health, well-being and environment. We work to create a Midwest where those who are most impacted from energy production and consumption are centered in those decisions.

    Position Overview

    The RE-AMP Network seeks a full-time Program Manager to support our agriculture and energy priorities. We’re seeking an energetic self-starter who can bring experience in energy and/or agricultural policy. Someone who is an excellent collaborator, and a skilled facilitator.

    A RE-AMP Program Manager facilitates members’ collaborative efforts in one or more strategic priority program areas and works as part of an overall team to develop strategies for equitably eliminating greenhouse gas emissions in the Midwest. Day to day responsibilities include coordinating group and one-to-one meetings, facilitating calls, planning network conversations that build member knowledge, overseeing issue-specific projects, and connecting issue-specific work back to the full network. They contribute to planning our Annual Meeting and other events. They also support shared responsibility for activities and tasks such as annual member surveys, steering committee meeting preparations, and staffing ad hoc committees. Program Managers report to RE-AMP’s Strategic Director.

    The position we are hiring for will staff our programming related to agriculture and energy.

    Agriculture Programming (35%):

    RE-AMP's agriculture priority is focused on cultivating food systems that nourish land, reduce emissions, and improve livelihoods while resisting consolidated control by industrial farms. In this work, we seek to:

    1. Advance climate friendly national agriculture policy: Build a base of support in the Midwest for national policy that reduces emissions, improves land health, and increases equity and justice for producers.
    2. Elevate models of regenerative agriculture: Build a base of evidence at the local and state levels for practices that reduce GHG emissions and increase soil and water health.
    3. Strengthen local economies for greater food security: Build pathways and reduce barriers for local markets, land access, and supply chain infrastructure.

    Tasks in the 2026 work plan will include holding a Midwest Climate and Agriculture Summit; convening regular monthly calls of the Food Systems and Agriculture Hub; hosting quarterly calls of the national agriculture policy coalition; helping develop and support topical research and analysis; conducting outreach; and connecting members to resources to support their work.

    Energy Programming (55%): The focus of RE-AMP’s energy work is to increase energy efficiency, get new clean energy online, retire dirty energy faster, and make sure people can afford the energy they need. Current areas of focus are:

    1. Reducing energy demand by preventing unnecessary demand for power (e.g. preventing unnecessary projects and increasing energy efficiency);
    2. Energy access: Ensuring everyone has access to clean energy (supporting member work to engaging in rate cases)
    3. Energy democracy: Transforming our energy system away from corporate control to energy that builds the prosperity and power of communities (e.g. promoting community solar; increasing democratic authenticity at rural electric co-ops and municipally-owned utilities).

    Tasks in the 2026 work plan include convening monthly energy hub meetings; facilitating RE-AMP’s regulatory peer learning cohort; hosting a monthly data center call; hosting a monthly rural electric co-op call; helping develop and support topical research and analysis; conducting outreach; and connecting members to resources to support their work.

    Internal Network Support (20%): All members of our staff team contribute to planning our Annual Meeting and other events. We also share responsibility for activities and tasks such as annual member surveys, steering committee meeting preparations, and staffing ad hoc committees.

    This is a remote position that may be located anywhere in the ten state RE-AMP region, which covers Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin. Some travel is required.

    Qualifications:

    • Knowledge and experience working on energy policy at the state level in one or more Midwestern state
    • Knowledge and experience working on agricultural and/or food systems policy at the local, state, and/or federal level
    • Experience facilitating diverse groups of people
    • Demonstrated commitment to racial equity
    • Project management experience and/or organizing experience
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Excellent interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work independently within a team
    • Creative problem-solving
    • Love of learning
    • Experience working in the nonprofit sector

    Compensación

    Compensation package includes health care, dental, and generous paid time off, including sick time, holidays, and three weeks other paid time off for first-year employees.
