    Role Description

    The Alameda County Democratic Party coordinates the Party’s activities throughout the county, making endorsements, organizing events and directing resources to support local, state and national candidates. Its governing body, the Alameda County Democratic Central Committee (Committee), is charged under state law with overseeing the Party’s local activities and campaigns, under the general direction of the California

    Democratic Party.

    The Party Services Coordinator will be responsible for managing the Committee’s ongoing programs and operations; promoting the successful operation of a volunteer-led, member-run Democratic Party; advancing the goals of the Party; and at all times meeting the highest ethical standards for professional conduct and projecting a positive image for Democrats.

    Duties include the following, in addition to other related duties authorized by the Chair:

    Planning, Accountability, & Administration – 50%

    • Attend and as needed participate in Committee, Executive Board, and subcommittee meetings
    • Prepare a weekly report for Committee leadership
    • Support Committee processes such as Endorsement and Club/UDC Chartering
    • Between July and September 2026, coordinate Committee endorsement interviews with declared Democratic candidates
    • Coordinate email, voicemail, and US mail and prepare responses or route as needed
    • Develop and maintain Committee databases
    • Coordinate data management, reporting, correspondence
    • Coordinate Committee’s website, email communication, and social media presence
    • Create forms, publications, and related materials to meet the Party’s communications and organizational needs
    • Train Committee and volunteers to use Committee and California Democratic Party technology and systems
    • Assess, propose, and help implement changes in technology to improve fundraising, outreach and volunteer recruitment.

    Communications, Organizing, and Outreach – 40%

    • Engage and work with Committee leadership to create and implement volunteer development and action plans (recruitment, contact management, communications, training and overall outreach)
    • Coordinate volunteers
    • As resources permit, identify sources for, recruit, and coordinate interns
    • Support Committee, volunteers, and interns on use of the CDP technology and systems.
    • Liaise with ACDCC-chartered Clubs and, during November 2026 election season, with United Democratic Campaigns to foster regular, two-way communication, identify opportunities for mutual efforts, and support the implementation of joint projects and initiatives
    • Support voter registration and outreach and implement the Party’s voter registration efforts
    • Support ACDCC special events and trainings
    • Coordinate fundraising, outreach, and volunteer databases, recruiting and training volunteers for data entry as needed. Ensure back-up and data verification

    Fundraising – 10%

    • Support Committee with fundraising activities and initiatives in coordination with leadership
    • Develop, share and update a calendar of fundraising events and opportunities, including low and high dollar events; direct mail; on-line solicitation; leadership gifts

    Our ideal candidate is:

    • Available to work at least through the 2026 election cycle.
    • Available to work during agreed upon weekday time periods and occasional evenings and weekends as agreed upon with Committee leadership
    • Committed to social and economic justice and the goals of the Democratic Party
    • Excels at balancing multiple priorities and completing duties in a timely and quality manner
    • Able to work efficiently and independently on assigned tasks and projects
    • Experienced with political organizing and volunteer coordination. Experience with fundraising and intern coordination a plus.
    • Experienced with organizing for issue or candidate campaigns
    • Proficient with software such as Microsoft and Google Suites. Familiarity with Canva and PDI a plus.
    • Familiar with basic website maintenance and email systems
    • Able to work efficiently and independently on daily tasks and special projects
