    Cornerstone – Intake Therapist CCBHC

    Cornerstone empowers people living with mental health and co-occurring substance use disorders to live, work, and integrate successfully into the community. We envision that each person we serve will have a meaningful life of their choosing. As the largest outpatient behavioral health agency in Montgomery County and Southern Maryland, we offer years of evidence based treatment experience to our consumers and practical training to our staff. Our robust training program allows staff members to develop and grow in the position and provides the basis for upward mobility within the agency.

    Responsibilities of the Intake Therapist

    • Conduct 7–10 intake assessments weekly (based on capacity) for individuals entering OMHC services.
    • Complete comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and initial treatment plans in compliance with agency and regulatory standards
    • Develop treatment plans for clients receiving prescriber-only services in collaboration with the medical team
    • Perform ad hoc safety/crisis assessments to support non-clinical intake staff, ensuring client safety and appropriate referrals.
    • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including prescribers, case managers, and peer support specialists

    Qualifications of the Intake Therapist

    • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology and licensure in the State of Maryland (LCSW-C, LCPC)
    • Knowledge of DSM-5 & clinical documentation standards with a commitment to trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and person-centered care

Eligible for health care (single and family) the 1st of the month following 30 days of employment. Must work a minimum of 20 hours per week to be eligible for benefits and leave accruals. 403(b) retirement plan with employer match available. This is a full-time (40 hours/week) position.
