    Descripción

    The Program Director will lead the shareholder advocacy campaign on climate and environmental justice to advance IASJ’s vision for a more equitable economy. Additionally, the Program Director will support other human rights campaigns, IASJ’s Proxy Voting service, communications, and client relationships.

    The Program Director will be responsible for the following activities:

    1. Lead strategic vision and execution of shareholder advocacy campaigns with corporations. Conduct and supervise research related to IASJ’s corporate social responsibility activities. Provide leadership in strategic organizational priorities and new initiatives.
    2. Manage shareholder advocacy campaigns, including drafting proposals, proxy memos, correspondence with companies, leading dialogues, and coordinating with partners.
    3. Lead and manage internal and external communications, including public relations. Manage bi-monthly newsletters, public relations and media opportunities, and organization's digital media platforms.
    4. Support proxy voting service, including training, reporting, and client management.
    5. Demonstrate leadership and subject matter expertise in networks and working groups relevant to areas of engagement; represent the organization in conferences, industry events, and through speaking engagements.
    6. Manage Affiliate and Client accounts, including work plans, reporting, and relationship-building and engagement.
    7. Provide operational support to the Executive Director and the Board.

    Qualifications

    • Masters degree or equivalent required.
    • 3-5 years of experience (including paid and/or unpaid positions) focused on human rights, community organizing, shareholder advocacy, environmental issues, corporate sustainability, or public policy.
    • Experience and knowledge of climate finance, environmental justice, Just Transition, Indigenous Peoples’ rights, and racial equity is preferred.
    • Experience or interest to learn about IASJ’s other campaigns.
    • Experience leading issue advocacy campaigns preferred.
    • Strong presentation, written, research, and analytical skills.
    • Excellent organizational, oral and written communication, and technical skills.

    • Have a high degree of flexibility and ability to adjust to changing circumstances.
    • Proven ability to work as a self-starter and team member.
    • Experience working with diverse stakeholders and partners, relationship management, and community engagement.
    • Passion for advancing social justice and corporate accountability in a human rights framework.

    Location: This is a remote position, with the option to work in person. Our office is based in Montclair, NJ.

    Compensation & Benefits: The salary range for this position is $65k-$70k. A benefits package includes health and dental insurance, a 403(b) plan, vacation, and flex-time.
