    Overview

    The Youth Digital Engagement Fellow will support the Youth Voter Engagement (YVE) program, which focuses on increasing civic participation among 18–35-year-olds, especially students at North Carolina's ten Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and extension campuses.

    This position will support digital strategies to engage young voters online through content creation, storytelling, and campus-based civic engagement efforts and will serve our 501(c)(3), North Carolina Black Alliance (NCBA) and will play a key role in strengthening our online presence, increasing voter education, and growing our youth base on digital platforms.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage and grow the existing NCBA youth-focused social media accounts by creating engaging, branded content that resonates with 18–35-year-olds.
    • Launch and curate a new Advance Carolina (C4) youth-focused social media presence with content aligned to key civic and political issues.
    • Create compelling graphics, short-form videos, and digital campaigns tied to voter education, civic participation, and policy awareness.
    • Support all digital engagement efforts and amplify youth-led campus organizing activities online.
    • Assist with planning and promoting virtual events and campaigns that drive digital and offline action.
    • Collaborate with the Marketing Communications team to ensure consistent messaging across all platforms and ensure that content aligns with the brand identity and values of both NCBA and Advance Carolina.

    Qualifications:

    • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Graduate degree in Marketing, Political Science, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
    • Self-motivated, forward-thinking, and able to take initiative with minimal oversight, capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
    • Demonstrated experience managing or contributing to social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, etc.).
    • Strong graphic design, video editing, or visual storytelling skills preferred.
    • Proficient in Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or other graphics programs
    • Passion for civic engagement, social justice, and amplifying youth voices.
    • Familiarity with HBCU campus culture and the 18–35-year-old audience is a plus.
    • Strong writing, organizational, and communication skills.
    • MUST HAVE RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION AND BE WILLING TO TRAVEL TO TARGETED NC CAMPUSES
