Summary
Art in Tanzania's Event Management program aims to organise online information sessions with our partners university students. You also organise focused events with our partners in Tanzania.
Details
Art in Tanzania has been operating since 1996. Our community placements attract about 250 participants annually. Our vision is to give students hands-on experience working in developing African communities. In addition to your studies, you will have an unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime experience of African culture and life, as well as fantastic natural scenery and wildlife.
Interns experience daily life in Tanzania while witnessing the growth of one of Africa's fastest-growing economies.
The Event Management program include tasks as follows:
We use digital marketing to increase the program's visibility to the public and as a marketing tool. We often use it to provide information about our work in the communities.
Part of the digital approach is to organise online info sessions and increase visibility for our overseas partner universities' online career days to reach their students. You also develop information materials and PowerPoint presentations for these events.
We also arrange targeted events with our community partners in Tanzania, focusing on building relationships with the community and advocating for issues such as public health and human rights.
Your tasks also include NGO safari and tour operations management tasks.
Our Facebook pages have more than 50k followers and a strong presence among the Tanzanian public.
In Tanzania, AI is taking its first steps. We are seeking your participation to empower the NGO team to use AI to produce the presentations.
The internship outcome is learning to use and gain experience implementing your education in developing country conditions with limited capacity, and a better understanding of the opportunities in a fast-growing economy.
Work hours are 6- 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday.
The program is ongoing, so the start dates are adjustable. Your placement is tailored to your background, experience, and interests, empowering us to work closely with the communities daily.
Daily tasks include practical fieldwork, planning, reporting, and visibility work.
The start and end dates are flexible, as all programs are ongoing, with many having run since 1996.
You and your visiting friends can enjoy low-cost, sustainable safaris and tours.
We typically have 15-40 students from diverse parts of the world, representing over 400 universities with which we collaborate, and from various professions.
Note that Erasmus+ funding can be applied for the Tanzania training. You can ask your student office about the grant options.
