Position Summary
We are seeking an Abortion Positive Legislation and Policy Intern to support our advocacy and policy efforts. This role involves research, tracking, and organizing in support of abortion-positive policy campaigns. The ideal candidate is politically engaged, detail-oriented, and excited to contribute to legislative efforts that expand abortion access.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and track Abortion Positive legislation in access states
- Research and summarize key bills, statutes, and policy trends impacting abortion access
- Draft memos, briefs, and talking points for internal and external use
- Support advocacy campaigns by helping prepare outreach materials
- Assist in mapping abortion-positive legislation and identifying opportunities for policy engagement
- Work collaboratively with the policy and communications teams to ensure aligned messaging
Qualifications
- Passion for abortion
- Deep interest in politics and policy
- Strong research, analytical, and writing skills
- Familiarity with legislative processes (at any level of government)
- Comfortable working independently and managing multiple tasks
- Background or coursework in political science, public policy, law, gender studies, or related fields
- Experience with advocacy or policy research a plus
- You must be a current college student
Compensation/Expectations
- This internship will run from June-August.
- Interns are expected to work 10-15 hours per week.
- Weekly professional training in various non-profit fields.
- College credit or a small stipend are available
