Are you passionate about nature and eager to pass that love on to others? Environmental educators, also known as naturalists and interpreters, teach students about natural resources.
Environmental educators might do their teaching outside, while hiking, canoeing, or sitting around a campfire, for example. They often work for the government, schools, and nonprofit organizations in camps, parks, nature centers, environmental programs, and museums. Environmental educators develop and teach programs about nature for people of all ages.
At present there are many global environmental issues. Nepal is not exception to this problem as many of our cities or towns continue to be plagued by air pollution as well as many other environmental problems. Our rivers suffer the effects of poorly treated sewage and industrial discharges. Deterioration of environment and loss of biodiversity are linked with poverty. Moreover, a wave of concern for environment swept across the developed world in the sixties and reached its climax in 1970 with the celebration of ‘The Earth Day’ under the auspices of The United Nation. After that the need for environmental education was keenly felt at the national level in Nepal.
In border terms, environmental science is a multidisciplinary science that deals with the study of natural resources, their degradation, and pollution, fate of species and role of human beings for the conservation of environment. Keeping this in view, knowledge to the students about the importance of protection and conservation of our environment and the need to restrain human activities, which may lead to indiscriminate release of pollutants into the environment.
Nepal is one of the most beautiful, culturally rich and welcoming country in the world. Nepal is very rich in diversity where temperature and culture differs every minutes of distance . It is home to Mount Everest, the birthplace of Lord Buddha, and an astonishingly beautiful and diverse landscape, ranging from the well-known peaks of the Himalayas to the low-lying regions of the Terai-Madesh. The Nepali people are as diverse as the geography, with over 70 languages or dialects and scores of traditional festivals celebrated throughout the year.
However, Nepal is among the poorest and least developed countries in the world with low rates of literacy, high rates of poverty and a persistent gender imbalance. The government is frequently unable to provide adequate education and health facilities throughout the country and both urban and rural areas are forced to live without the necessary resources to promote the growth and development of their communities:
