Grace Church in Newark is hiring a Ministry Fellow for 2025-2026.
The Ministry Fellowship at Grace Church is a parish internship opportunity for someone, likely recently out of college or finishing a service year, to spend a year or two living, praying, discerning, and serving with a diverse Episcopal parish in Downtown Newark, NJ.
The Ministry Fellow lives on-site with other staff members at Grace Church in the old monastic quarters above the Parish House. The Fellowship involves leading worship, coordinating the outreach ministries of Grace Church, participating in all aspects of parish administration, and living a shared life with the staff and wider parish community. The particular gifts of any applicant will be considered in the course of determining the duties and responsibilities of the Fellow in their year of service.
An ideal applicant should demonstrate maturity, vigor, a commitment to living simply, and devotion to a life of service and spirituality. Applicants who wish to pursue a lifelong career in lay or ordained ministry are highly desired. The Fellow will receive assistance discerning their vocation from the Rector of Grace Church.
Applicants should have a faith compatible with The Episcopal Church’s expression of Christianity and in the Anglo-Catholic tradition. Any applicant who believes they can serve an Episcopal congregation with integrity is welcome to apply.
