Climate Water Advocate Interns initially complete in-depth training on California water policy, changing climates, and all aspects of San Francisco Bay-Delta Estuary management from water rights to history, to fishery science, to water quality needs and monitoring, to flood control. They use this initial training to engage in water quality testing and data gathering, to conduct social media campaigns, to read and respond to state and federal management plans for the Delta, and to prepare to address government agencies on Delta community concerns. Interns will work with the Delta Science Program Manager to collect and provide data for water quality issues around the Delta on a weekly basis from late April to the end of September, the internship may be extended to the end of the year, depending on availability and performance. This internship opportunity is a paid internship.

This paid internship is an entry-level professional position that requires good communication skills (written, verbal, and through technology), a desire to learn, and the opportunity to put
knowledge gained into practical use in a variety of job skills. Those with interdisciplinary
interests and skills thrive within the program.
Hours will vary by schedule, but no more than 10 hours a week. The rate is $20/hour.
