Tea Leaf Trust

To provide opportunities through education for young people from the tea estate areas of central Sri Lanka. We work to improve professional skills in English, IT and Business making young people more employable.

Alongside this, our mission is to help our students develop the coping mechanisms and life skills to deal with the multi-layered social issues that exist within their communities (85% male alcoholism, 83% domestic violence against women). We work with them throughout the one-year full-time, free diploma to engage them with their social consciences so that they can be 'Change Agents' within their communities and become the solution to the generational poverty and oppression these estates have grown to accept.
