Equuvation Therapy + Education Center

Equuvation, a nonprofit nature-based therapy and education center located in North Carolina, was developed to be the catalyst for big ideas, innovative programs, collaboration and continuing education in any field of activity leveraging the horse-human connection.

Based out of Rocky Creek Ranch, a naturally-rich equestrian property, Equuvation has created a safe and thoughtful space for children, teens and adults to seek healing, respite, inspiration and education.

We offer equine-assisted and nature-based therapies for those with disabilities; impacted by trauma, abuse or chronic illness; and symptoms of anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, and Autism. Additionally, we offer experiential learning opportunities focused on self-care, leadership, personal growth and more.

Through the mindful development of our facility, both people and animals are able to find sanctuary here. Horse and animal care practices are dedicated to the lifetime emotional and physical needs of the animals chosen to be partners in this work; and National Wildlife Federation Sanctuary status defines the farm as a safe space for all wildlife. As a “sensory friendly” facility, disruptive noises and distractions are kept to a minimum during sessions. All of Equuvation’s activities operate under the values of compassion, inclusion, and integrity.

As an industry, equine-assisted and nature-based therapies are a proven, highly effective and unique way to identify negative patterns, process emotions, overcome trauma, and work towards healing. The sensory-filled “laboratory” that nature offers, combined with horse-human interactions, accelerates personal growth in areas of compassion, self-regulation, communication, self-advocacy, empathy, responsibility, self-awareness, conflict resolution and much more.
