Kicheko Africa Foundation

Kicheko Africa Foundation is a community-driven nonprofit organization based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, dedicated to empowering women, children, youth, and marginalized groups through holistic development programs. Inspired by the Swahili word kicheko, meaning "smile," we work to bring hope, dignity, and opportunity to underserved communities across the country. Our mission is rooted in the belief that lasting change begins within the community itself, and our programs are guided by the values of equity, compassion, empowerment, integrity, and sustainability. We focus on providing access to quality education, health services, and economic opportunities while promoting gender equality and inclusive community growth. From offering scholarships and skills training to running maternal health awareness campaigns and entrepreneurship workshops, we strive to address the root causes of poverty and social inequality. We primarily serve low-income families, unemployed youth, women and girls facing systemic barriers, people with disabilities, and other vulnerable populations. Through partnerships, grassroots engagement, and a commitment to sustainable impact, Kicheko Africa Foundation works to build self-reliant, thriving communities where every individual has the chance to reach their full potential.
