Our institute began as the Bellflower Conservatory in 1990 with a single violin lesson, and has now grown to include lessons in oboe, piano, cello, flute, clarinet, trumpet, guitar, saxophone, and voice, as well as in art, math, and English. In 2000, the conservatory became a non-profit organization and gained the new name: the Institute of Art, Music, and Science (IAMS). This change was made to maintain high quality education while increasing program diversity, and providing these services at affordable costs to children and families of bellflower and surrounding communities. The facility offers seven studios staffed by sixteen teachers with approximately 150 students. The IAMS is governed by seven members. Board of Directors composing leaders in musical education and performance, business and community-based non-profits. Organization activity is directed and supervised by Eunji Lee, the director of the IAMS, and carried out by sixteen teachers hailing from such notable institutions as Yale School of Music, Rice University, Curtis Institute of Music, USC, and UCLA.
