The Get To® Foundation, a Michigan 501c3, was created to honor the life and legacy of Ben Jones, a beloved coach, athlete, and mentor who inspired others through his infectious optimism and his belief that every challenge holds opportunity. Ben lived by the motto “Get To”, a mindset that challenges us to see life’s obligations as opportunities. We don’t have to go to school, work hard, or show up for our team—We Get To.

That simple shift in perspective powers everything we do.

Our mission is about more than giving scholarships or hosting events, it’s about helping people reframe how they see the world. It’s about finding joy in the challenge, choosing gratitude, and showing up with purpose.

Since our launch in 2021, we’ve worked hard to bring the Get To® mindset to life in tangible ways through our outreach programs including scholarships, grants, inspirational speakers and more:

• 1500+ youth inspired through our annual Get To® Inspire Speaker Series, students across metro Detroit hear powerful stories of perseverance and purpose.
• Over $120,000 in 90+ Michigan’s outstanding scholar-athletes, supporting their journeys and helping tomorrow’s leaders move closer to their goals.
• 33+ Community Grants. From athletic gear to team sponsorships and community projects, we’ve awarded $115,000 in grants—impacting over 4,000 youth and sparking Get To® moments across Michigan.
