Society for Community Action Network-India (SCAN-INDIA)

Society for community action network-India (SCAN-INDIA)is a non-profit, charitable organization working among the rural poor especially the women, children and youth in India. The magnitude of poverty, illiteracy, unemployment and drought in Chittoor district was the major driving force behind establishing this organization.

Mission Statement: “ Our mission is to improve the living conditions and the quality of life of the poor and underprivileged through sustainable programmes.”

Main Objectives: ·To reach out to the underprivileged women, children & youth and to provide need based services for their growth and development. ·To create employment oppoprtunities in the rural areas through income generating programmes. ·To provide healthcare to the poor through health camps, clinics and other awareness programmes. ·To organise extension services in water management, water harvesting, recharge and application of appropriate technology. ·To initiate environmental conservation and protection activities. ·To establish and run schools, hostels, polytechnics and orphanages for the underprivileged children and youth.
