Families Moving Forward offers a temporary home to families with children in the crisis of homelessness. Working together, we create a path to stability and self-sufficiency through personalized services and ongoing community support.
We are the primary emergency shelter for homeless families in Durham, partnering with many colleagues across the community. We are unique in the amount of extensive programming offered to our parents, in our focus on children in order stop the cycle of poverty and homelessness, and in our one year aftercare program during which we continue to support our families' self-sufficiency goals.
