The CLC of NWI is a space science education center that opened it's doors in 1999 on the campus of Purdue University Calumet in Hammond, IN. Our non-profit center is part of a network of science centers that endeavor to carry on the educational mission of the Challenger 51-L crew and it's first teacher in space, Christa McAuliffe, that was lost on January 28, 1986, seventy-one seconds into it's launch. Our center is dependent on individual gifts, corporate gifts, grants and program revenue.
