Simply put, JELF helps fund college and grad degrees for deserving Jewish students. For more than 150 years, JELF has been providing aid to Jewish students, originally as the Hebrew Orphans’ Home. Today, we have one program to provide interest-free loans for students who do not have the full funding to get to college.
JELF serves the five-state region of Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia and in 2019, provided nearly $1.3 million in loans to 300 students. JELF students have maintained a 1% default rate for more than a decade and we take pride in the strength of our growing alumni donor cohort.
