Trained facility (therapy) dogs have been very successful in our primary school here in Georgia. I am a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers and offer trained dogs to schools for their curriculum support in regular and special education classes. The dog must be handled by one approved retired teacher, educator,counselor, or paraprofessional. There is no charge for these dogs; Recipient schools must host fundraisers to cover basic initial costs of the dog.
