The New York Youth Justice Initiative (NYYJI) is a coalition of philanthropic organizations and donors seeking to improve youth justice systems and outcomes for justice-involved youth in New York City. Through coordination, collaboration, advocacy and information-sharing, NYYJI hopes to increase the ability of member organizations to strategically and effectively support this goal. NYYJI is currently co-chaired by Julie Peterson, Senior Program Officer at the Pinkerton Foundation and Kaberi Banerjee Murthy, Vice President of Programs at the Brooklyn Community Foundation.
